Golf Shootout Brings Hope

Pathway To Hope brings support and direction to individuals and families dealing with mental illness. By providing education, resources, advocacy and transitional housing, it provides a unique service to those in need. To support their services, Pathway To Hope is holding its annual Golf Shootout Fundraiser on Monday, June 10.

“The plans are coming together for a great event at a well-known course,” said Gregg Herbert, committee chair. “We’re holding the event at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course again this year to give our golfers another shot at one of the very best courses in the region. It’s no wonder that the Sycamore Ridge is rated so highly by Golf Digest and Zagat.” Add the excitement of new event features to the lure of this fine course and you have an event that will please as it delivers an important community benefit.

The programming and financial resources to support those coping with mental illness continues to decrease at governmental levels, while the need for those services becomes greater every day. “That’s what makes Pathway To Hope so important in our community, said Sharon Lawrenz, executive director. “We fill the gaps for people that seem to have fewer and fewer options. We’re at the other end of the phone or at the hospital when things seem darkest. We’re offering our expertise, providing our programming and reaching out our hands to those who desperately need them. The tournament proceeds are so important, allowing us to reach farther and do more throughout the year,” Lawrenz said.
